Transparent Armor in a Peaceful life

Armored glass is a transparent design that protects people and material assets located in the room from damage or penetration from outside through the window opening. There are several types of attacks, from which armored glass protects. In accordance with this there are anti-vandal armored windows; burglar-proof armored windows; bulletproof armored windows - protection against small arms; explosion protection.

The armored window consists of an armored frame and armored glass. Armored glass is a laminated glass, the layers of which are glued together by polymer films or filled with a special polymer. The thickness of the armored glass (from 10 to 80 mm or more) determines the degree of protection. The large thickness of the glass gives it a characteristic green opacity.

Armored glass can also be made of glass using chemical additives (clarified glass). Despite the thickness of the armored glass, it remains transparent and almost indistinguishable from ordinary. Armored glass can be installed as part of a double-glazed window to give the window good noise and heat insulation properties.

The frame can be made from the profiles of various materials. In practice, aluminum frames are most often used, and steel frames, including stainless steel, are also used. Wooden armored profiles are less commonly applicable.

To give the frame protective properties, hardened or ordinary steel armored plates are fitted into special cover pieces: they do not affect the appearance of the window. The overlay should completely overlap the junction of the frame and the armored glass - this is the most dangerous point for shooting or penetration.
